Since October 2015 our honorary learning therapist Matthias Goldmann supervised one of our participants. Thank you very much for this valuable work and personal commitment!

Not only the students liked the result of their course ” sawing and screwing “, but also the school board!
So the geosphere found a new home at the entrance hall of LOTIS Oberstufenzentrum.

Every Tuesday refugee children from the hangars come to the Fliegerwerkstatt to play soccer. An initiative that we could start with our networking partners, ” Breakout ” and ” Yellow Villa “.

Our Fliegerwerkstatt youth, including refugees from different nations, built for refugees shelfs and seating for the Tempelhof welcome café.

The wood is sawn, sanded, stuck together and attached by an air pressure stapler.

The final assembly took place in the Tempelhof welcome café.

A few hundred meters from the Fliegerwerkstatt there is an exciting project that our youth may follow: the former aircraft engineers and pilots around Hagen Goerz restore as volunteers a whole aircraft for the technical museum. The Ilyushin II – 14 is repaired piece by piece since 2006. Mutual visits have become a matter of course, and the commitment of our neighbors for the young people is remarkable.

Of course, we are happy when the television comes round to report about the Fliegerwerkstatt. Not all youths dared to be on camera. That’s o.k.! In the end, the remaining volunteers helped to make an authentic report.

In anticipation of our own flight simulator the first four youths were invited to take a flight lesson at Aviare! Many thanks to Norbert Gronak and Ruben Schikora!

Also this year, 13 pupils from Berlin’s middle and high schools took part in the Girls’ Day.

For new ideas and more background knowledge it is always worth visiting the Deutsches Technikmuseum . Our two new “aviators”  Fidel and Ikeade could explore their very different interests.

Even a burger can be slow food: from the bread until the ketchup, everything is home made!
