Orientation weeks for 70 young people

Within the cooperation with Arbeit und Bildung e.V. and the Institute for Productive Learning we are in the second year running the project “Practical testing for young people refugees”. This programme is funded by the Senate Department for Education, Youth and Family.
The first 70 participants* from 5 different schools each completed a week of orientation in the Fliegerwerkstatt.

In this first phase they have time to arrive, get to know and appreciate each other better in their group and develop their first manual skills.

Language support related to practical learning is an essential part of the concept.

Some of these young people will remain in the Temporary Learning Group throughout the school year and will implement further projects in the Fliegerwerkstatt three times a week.

Working together, cooking, eating and experiencing each other are our approach to a trustful cooperation and personal development of the young people.

New cooperation with the Albert-Schweitzer-Gymnasium

With the beginning of the new school year we have a new cooperation partner. The welcome class of the Albert-Schweitzer-Gymnasium comes to the Fliegerwerkstatt once a week as part of the ‘practical learning’ programme. Handicraft projects run parallel to targeted language training with practical relevance.

Summer school 2020

From 20 July to 07 August, the Fliegerwerkstatt will be participating in the summer school programme of the Senate Administration for Education, Youth and Family.

The summer school supports pupils in the core subjects (German, mathematics) and in the development of skills in professional activities as well as language and digital competence. In small groups of a maximum of eight participants, young people can catch up on learning content in the Fliegerwerkstatt, improve their language skills and gain job-related experience through craft projects.

Fliegerwerkstatt is open again!

From 5 May the Fliegerwerkstatt will be open again. Everything is prepared to resume work on the projects in small groups under the necessary hygiene and protection measures.

We are looking forward to seeing the young people again!

In addition to the video, a media clip was created with the support of Stefan Wriege, Communications Manager of Rolls-Royce. We would like to find further partners like Rolls-Royce, who also want to pass on a part of their success to young people! Because this social return is an investment into a common peaceful and successful future.  Watch media clip von Youtube

Practical Experience for Refugee Youths

In the new school year, the Fliegerwerkstatt cooperates with the educational institution Arbeit und Bildung e.V. and takes over the practical part of the programme ” Practical Experience for Refugee Youths”. This programme is supported by the Senate Department for Education, Youth and Family. Workshop weeks take place during an orientation phase. In temporary learning groups the contents are deepened and supplemented with language teaching, so that the participants can be placed within the school year into the work and training market.
