Helicopter engine GTD 350

It’s thanks to Günter Hujer, the historian circle engine factory Oberursel and not least Rolls-Royce Germany that we now have a Klomov’s helicopter engine GTD 350 Klimov in our workshop. In order to demonstrate how such a drive works we will make a Schnittmodell of this engine. Another project for our young pilots.

Cockpit 737-Classic

The Fliegerwerkstatt gets her first big airplane part, the cockpit of a Boeing 737, which was still flown around the world until August 2014 for Southwest Airlines. This cockpit is to be the centerpiece of a real flight simulator, which we want to build together with the young people.

Cooperation with the Ferdinand-Freiligrath-School

Back in December, we were welcomed by the school management of the Ferdinand-Freilingrath-School and developed many ideas for cooperation. A 3-day workshop is scheduled for March, initial concepts were exchanged and the planning for the new school year can begin.

Soundproofing in the Fliegerwerkstatt

Should it even be very loudly when drilling or hammering our pilots will be able to retire in the noise protection cabin. Not only this cabin, but also a CNC machine, tool trolleys and cabinets were given to us by the training workshop of Rolls-Royce Germany!

Graffiti-Workshop

In our 2-day graffiti workshop six students of the Marianne-Cohn-School designed a common work of art.

Stefan Wilke, a professional graffiti artist, donated his time to support the young with his expertise.

Thus, they created with many different ideas a one-time work, to which the “artists” were as proud as their caregivers.

Light Rocket Workshop

During the autumn holidays students from various surrounding schools designed their own lightweight rockets from PET bottles and could then start on the old airfield at Tempelhof. Filled with water and pumped air, they developed a range of up to 25 meters!

Who ever needed a break between the construction phase, was able to let off steam in the soccer field.

We start with the first projects!

A graffiti project about fly might provide us with some initial templates for our Fliegerwerkstatt logo. We also offer a PET-rocket workshop – and let start the first unmanned flying objects on the Tempelhof Field! In the autumn holidays the Fliegerwerkstatt is open Monday to Friday from 14:00 to 19:00 o’clock for our airplane enthusiastic youngsters.

Our sponsor and partner Rolls-Royce Germany

has given us in addition to a cash donation a bulging tool trolley! And then came a truck with tables, cabinets, office furniture, which we urgently needed for our institution. Many thanks! The office of our airmen workshop team is thus excellently equipped, and our young people can already start with the first technical exercises.
